A local man was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with an earlier fight with another man after allegedly making a threatening motion like he had a gun.
James Odus Davis, 45, who lists an address of 136 Cloud Nine Drive, space C-2, was taken into custody shortly after 12:30 p.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days in jail, and later released on $500 bond. He is set to appear Nov. 12 in Garland County District Court.
According to the report, shortly after 9 a.m., GCSD Deputy Joey Pate was dispatched to the Cloud Nine RV Park in reference to a fight and upon arrival found two men by the road, identified as Davis and Larry Beaty.
Both men had reportedly worked together for several weeks and Davis believed Beaty had taken some of his tools. A report was taken, and Beaty was advised go to the Highway 70 rest area for an hour or so “to allow everyone to calm down.”
Beaty did and returned around noon and retrieved his camper. He then went back to the rest area to wait on a friend who was going to help him move his camper. As he was sitting there, Davis allegedly drove up and parked nearby.
Beaty said Davis sat there for a few minutes and then held up his hand like he had a gun in it. As Beaty called 911, Davis reportedly left the area but was later taken into custody without incident.
