Los Altos Police K9 Team takes 1st Place!

Police Officer Julie Ognoskie and her K9 partner Lord competed in the 30th Annual Witmer-Tyson Police K9 Trials held in La Honda, CA on October 16 and 17.  Police K9 teams from all over Northern California, including San Jose, Redding, Fremont, Sunnyvale and Palo Alto competed in a variety of K9 skills such as Obedience, Obstacles, Protection and Searching scenarios over the course of the two-day competition.  At the end of the event, Officer Ognoskie and Lord were awarded 1st Place Overall and 2nd Place in both Obedience and Protection categories.  Congratulations to Julie and Lord for their hard work and success!

Officer Ognoskie says, “It was a surprise to take first this year!” She added, “We got 2nd Place Overall last year but capturing 1st Place was very rewarding, and made all of the time we put into training well worth it.”

Lord currently works on night patrol and lives at home with Officer Ognoskie when they are off duty.  Special thanks to Officer Ognoskie for providing these photos.
