Three charged with possession of methamphetamine after raid on Burma Road East Friday
Detective Chris Marsh of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Johnny Ray Goings, 61, of Burma Road East in Marion, with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from custody on a written promise to appear in court.
Marsh also charged 31-year-old Vanessa Lynn Grant and 43-year-old Roger Allen Hoyle, both of Burma Road East, with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Each was taken into custody in lieu of an $11,000 bond.
On Friday morning, as part of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in McDowell County, Sheriff’s deputies, Marion police officers, N.C. State Bureau of Investigation agents and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents raided the trio’s residence at 868 Burma Road East.
Marsh said officers seized user amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana and three firearms. The meth was located in the house, and the marijuana was found on Goings.
