Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are at the 3900 block of West Century Boulevard, Inglewood, to investigate the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting which occurred at approximately 12:01AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2013.
Two deputies were hit by gunfire and have sustained non-life threatening injuries. One deputy was transported to a local hospital and one was treated by paramedics at the scene.
One male suspect was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead and two other suspects (a male and a female) have been detained. A suspect handgun was recovered at the scene.

Whenever a Deputy-Involved Shooting occurs, involving Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, and it results in a fatality of a suspect, multiple independent investigations immediately begin at the scene. These include separate investigations by the Offices of the Los Angeles County District Attorney and the Los Angeles County Coroner, in addition to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau and Internal Affairs Bureau. Attorneys with the Los Angeles Office of Independent Review also respond to the scene, and have full access to the facts known to the Sheriff's Department throughout every phase of these thorough investigations. Once concluded, every aspect of the shooting is reviewed by the Sheriff's Executive Force Review Committee.
