McDowell County sheriff’s deputies need help finding a convicted sex offender who allegedly failed to follow registry rules.
Capt. Ricky Crisp of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Michael Brandon Martin, 34, of 10112 Montford Cove Road in Marion, with failure to register as a sex offender, which is a felony. However, Martin has not been located.
As a registered sex offender, Martin is required to verify his address with the Sheriff’s Office every six months. Crisp said Martin failed to report, so a warrant was issued Friday.
He was convicted of one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor in McDowell County on Feb. 8, 1999.
