Learn more about the negative effects of Domestic Violence. Daily three women will lose their lives in as a result of DV.

“This October, let us honor National Domestic Violence Awareness Month by promoting peace in our own families, homes, and communities. Let us renew our commitment to end domestic violence -- in every city, every town, and every corner of America.” President Barack Obama
Although our Nation has made substantial progress in reducing domestic violence, one in four women and one in seven men in the United States will suffer serious physical violence at the hands of an intimate partner at least once during their lifetime. Every day, three women will lose their lives in this country as a result of domestic violence. And last year alone deputies from Lancaster Station responded to over 700 calls involving intimate partner abuse.
Our local domestic violence non-profit agencies, Law Enforcement, and our great City of Lancaster have made significant strides in the effort to eliminate social and domestic violence from our community. But there is much more work to be done, and we need your help. If you see abuse happening, report it.
We encourage victims, their families, friends, and concerned citizens to learn more by calling the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE, or by visiting local domestic violence agency websites such as Valley Oasis at www.valleyoasis.org.
