Arrest for armed robbery

On 10/16/13 at 1:03 PM the San Luis Obispo Police Department received a 911 call from a male, reporting he had just been robbed at knife point in front of 1901 Henry in San Luis Obispo. The 911 caller reported the suspect fled into an apartment at that location immediately following the robbery.
Officers responded to the area and established a perimeter around the location and then attempted to contact the occupants inside. The occupants of the residence fled out a window and one of the doors where they were met by officers and detained.
The investigation revealed the victim in this crime had actually come to the residence in an attempt to purchase heroin from the residence. The victim was not injured as a result of the robbery.
A search warrant was obtained and served at the location by members of the San Luis Obispo Police Department Special Enforcement Team. During that search evidence of narcotics use was located along with a knife believed to be from the robbery.
S/Fabian MADINA, 25 year old resident of San Luis Obispo was arrested for 211 PC – Robbery, 417(A)(1) PC – Brandishing a knife and a Parole violation.
S/John TORRES, 46 year old resident of San Luis Obispo was arrested for an outstanding Parole warrant after he fled from the residence.
S/Chris KIANI, 25 year old resident of San Luis Obispo was arrested for 11550(a) HS – Being under the influence of a controlled substance, 496 PC – Possession of stolen property, and 11366 HS – Maintaining a place for illegal activity to take place.
All three suspects were booked at County Jail for the listed offenses. The investigation revealed MEDINA acted alone during the robbery. The additional suspects were not arrested due to any involvement in the robbery.
