DATE OF RELEASE: October 14, 2013
This morning at 11:21 hours, two West Covina Detectives in plain clothes and in an unmarked vehicle were in the county area of La Puente in the 200 block of South Hacienda Blvd when they witnessed an armed robbery in progress. They observed the suspect and victim struggling before the suspect fled, leaving a handgun at the scene. The Detectives requested assistance while they followed the suspect who was now driving away from the scene. Several West Covina units responded Code 3 (overhead lights and sirens activated) and caught up to the suspect in the 13600 block of Valley Blvd where she was taken into custody.
Nancy Eap, 32 of Garden Grove was arrested for armed robbery and is being held on $100,000.00 bail at the West Covina Police Department.
During the response, two police units collided in the intersection of Hacienda Blvd and Temple Avenue in the City of La Puente. The collision caused one of the units to go through a block wall and into a house located at the corner of the same intersection. The house was occupied but no one was in the room where the collision occurred. One officer was transported to a local hospital where he was examined and has since been released. The other officer was not injured. No other persons were injured.
