On October 9, 2013, a group of personnel from Lakewood Sheriff’s Station were at the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House cooking dinner for more than 20 guest families. The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House provides families of children facing serious illnesses a place to stay, care and support, along with a chance to connect with other families facing similar situations. Many guest families often return from a long day at the hospital, and cooking a meal can be the last thing on their minds. Our deputies volunteered to cook a hot meal with the hopes of providing an additional level of comfort for the families.

The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House is a non-profit organization, and it relies heavily on local community support. If you would like to volunteer or donate, visit their website at www.longbeachrmh.org, or contact Jennifer O’Donnell at (562) 285-4302.
