Suspect wanted for false imprisonment of elderly shopper
On Friday, July 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., the 71-year-old victim was exiting the Albertsons at 21035 Hawthorne Blvd., through the north entrance doors, when she was approached by a suspect. The suspect greeted the victim before assisting her in taking groceries to her vehicle. The suspect then told the victim to give her ten dollars for gas money. After the victim gave the suspect a ten-dollar bill, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle uninvited and instructed the victim to take her to the WAL-MART at 22015 Hawthorne Blvd.
The victim drove the suspect to the WAL-MART parking lot and parked the vehicle. The suspect then removed a twenty-dollar bill from the victim’s purse, stating she needed it to fix a broken down car. The suspect threatened to "rough up" the victim if she did not comply, then exited the victim’s vehicle and left in an unknown direction.
SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:
Black female adult, mid-40s, 5’08”/ 250-300 lbs, short, straight hair, prescription glasses, wearing a blue/gray tank top, black shorts, dark handbag with white handles and corners and flip-flops.
