Wednesday afternoon, the Snyder Police Chief requested OSBI assist with an investigation into a stabbing that became a homicide investigation. Thomas Kent Bell, 53, was stabbed outside a residence at 521 A Street, Snyder. Bell was transported to Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus where he was pronounced dead. An OSBI agent arrested Forrest Kyle Barfield (d.o.b. 9-7-1988) at the crime scene. Barfield was booked into the Kiowa County Jail on a complaint of first degree murder. The stabbing occurred during a physical altercation between the victim and another man at the scene.
