28 Bike Thefts in the city of Torrance in the last 3 months

Since June 11, 2013, there have been 28 bike thefts predominately from apartment buildings in the area south of Del Amo Blvd. and east of Anza Avenue to the city limits. There was one in May before the current spike commenced with five in June, eight in July, six in August and nine through September 22, 2013. Non-secured and secured (locks cut) bikes have been taken. A variety of makes with values from $70-2000 have been targeted. The thefts are happening both day and nighttime, all days of week.
