Press Release for Fatal Traffic Accident that occurred on Hawthorne Blvd 
On October 1, 2013, at approximately 5:40 am, officers from the Torrance Police Department responded to a major injury traffic collision in the 20000 block of Hawthorne Blvd.
On arrival, officers discovered that a Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Hawthorne Blvd. when it collided with a female adult pedestrian who was in the roadway. Torrance Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene, but the pedestrian had already succumbed to her injuries.
The female pedestrian was positively identified by investigators; however, her name is being withheld pending notification to a next of kin. The driver of the Toyota Camry was not injured in the collision and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
