At approximately 0200 hours this morning there was a structure fire at 2700 block Patterson Avenue. The cause of the fire was determined to be a candle left burning unattended in a storage shed located at the back of the property.

The storage shed was a total loss. The fire spread to a single wide mobile home located on the east side of the property. The mobile home received moderate damage.

The property located at 2700 block Patterson Avenue is a large lot which has two single wide mobile homes sharing the same electrical and gas service. As a result of the damage caused by the fire, electrical service to both homes was shut off but the meter is still in place. The gas valve to the damaged home was also shut off.
