Ray Jackson Welch III apprehended after a couple of weeks on the run
McDowell County sheriff's deputies apprehended a man on the run from felony break-in and weapons charges.
Detectives have been searching for Ray Jackson Welch III, 23, of Harmony Grove Road in Nebo, since late August.
They located Welch Tuesday at a mobile home park off U.S. 70 West.
He was one of three people who allegedly broke into the Veterans Drive residence of Tony and Lynn Lewis on Aug. 7 and stole eight guns, jewelry, two chainsaws, a wallet, tools and checks worth a total of $7,755.
Detective Andy Manis charged Welch with one felony count each of possession of a firearm by a felon, breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. He was taken into custody in lieu of a $5,500 bond.
