Traffic stop turns up gun, marijuana, drug paraphernalia; Arvil Lee James Morgan charged 
Detective Chris Marsh of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Arvil Lee James Morgan, 27, of Faith Baptist Church Road in Marion, with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
On Aug. 27, troopers with the N.C. Highway Patrol stopped a Kia Sephia on U.S. 70 East in Nebo because the driver had no license.
Morgan was an occupant of the vehicle.
Marsh said sheriff’s deputies searched the Kia and located a handgun, 1.2 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
