Detective charges woman (Audrey Black) with stealing Masonic ring and pawning it
Detective Paul Alkire of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Audrey Black, 44, of Muddy Creek Road in Nebo, with felony larceny and felony obtaining property by false pretense. She was released from custody on a written promise to appear in court.
Alkire said, on Aug. 20, while cleaning the home of Ernest Cranford, of Roland’s Chapel Road in Nebo, Black allegedly stole the victim’s gold Masonic ring, valued at $1,000.
The detective added that Black pawned the ring for $130.
The ring was recovered but had been damaged.
