The $3.3 million project is expected to be completed in spring 2014.
The Pine Valley Substation serves an area of more than 400 square miles including Pine Valley, Guatay, Descanso, Mount Laguna, Boulevard and Jacumba.
During construction, the Pine Valley Sheriff's Substation is at its temporary location at 28914 Old Highway 80 Suite 106, Pine Valley.
