Oakland, CA — On Thursday, August 22, 2013 the Alameda County District Attorneys Office charged Rasheed Strane, 23, of Oakland in connection with the homicide of Rebecca Viera, 39, of Oakland.

Oakland Police Department Investigators credit the good work of patrol officers who on august 21, 2013 at 12:48 AM, observed wanted suspect Strane in another part of East Oakland walking down the street and safely arrested him.
BACKGROUND: On August 17, 2013, at 9:40 PM, officers responded to the 7200 block of MacArthur Boulevard on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene they located two victims, Rebecca Viera suffering from a fatal gunshot wound and the second victim who suffered a non fatal gunshot wound.
