On August 23, 2013, the Compton community will be treated to the 5th annual Compton Back to School on Wheels “I HAVE A DREAM” presented by Genesis Enterprise, at Walter Tucker Park. All the children from the community are asked to come with their wheels, including: bicycles, skate boards, scooters, and skates. The hope is that they start the upcoming school year with the same energy and enthusiasm that they have to ride their wheels. A Compton Station Patrol unit along with the Compton Fire Department will escort the children around the park on Laurel Ave. The students will receive school supplies to get them ready for a great school year.
The event will feature the Compton Fire Department and its explorers, the Compton Sheriff Station, the Compton based ambulance Explorer 1, entertainment from The School Tour (www.theschooltour.com) and many more community groups.
