Animal Cruelty suspect convicted.

Thomas Naylor Convicted
On July 12th 2013, Thomas Naylor was arrested by the Culver City Police Department for Animal Cruelty and Drunk Driving. Mr. Naylor removed a dog from the trunk of his vehicle and left it, near death, on a Culver City sidewalk. Responding officers located Mr. Naylor and the dog (Cruiser). The officers rushed Cruiser to a local veterinarian hospital where he was treated; he has made a full recovery.
On July 16th 2013, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed criminal charges against Mr. Naylor consisting of: one count of felony Animal Cruelty, one count of Drunk Driving, one count of Witness Intimidation, and one count of Driving without a License.
Yesterday, July 30th 2013, Mr. Naylor pled no contest to Animal Cruelty and was sentenced to one year in County Jail and three years formal probation. As a condition of his probation, Mr. Naylor may not own an animal and he was ordered to pay restitution for Cruiser’s veterinarian expenses. Cruiser is in the process of being released to a rescue organization.
