UPDATE: MUG SHOTS OF TWO DEFENDANTS IN PROSTITUTION STINGS THAT NETTED 37 ARRESTS

The attached mug shots are of Ivy Hamilton Jr., a 34-year-old male, charged with promotion of prostitution as an alleged "pimp," and Charlotte McCombs, a 56-year-old female charged with the felony of prostitution after at least three previous convictions for prostitution. She was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Vice Unit, along with assistance from the Harris County Joint Task Force and Constable Precinct 4, arrested 37 men and women during several prostitution stings in east Harris County starting last week.

Undercover officers targeted prostitutes and those who solicit sex from prostitutes.

Female deputies posing as prostitutes worked the streets while male undercover deputies posed as customers of real prostitutes.

Among the charges filed were felony prostitution, promotion of prostitution and felony possession of a controlled substance.

"If you buy or sell sex, you go to jail," Sheriff Adrian Garcia said. "Prostitution frequently involves human trafficking, sex slavery, substance abuse and theft. Those ar enot so-called victimless crimes."

The HCJTF is a partnership between the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Constable Precinct 3 targeting crime prevention and interdiction in east Harris County.

During one of the operations, HCSO investigators witnessed a major two-car accident at a traffic intersection. One of the vehicles involved was carrying four children. That vehicle rolled several times before resting on the driver’s side door. HCSO investigators, with the help of other witnesses, ran to the scene and flipped the vehicle back on its wheels. HCSO investigators stayed with the children until paramedics arrived.
