Press Release - Domestic Violence Suspect Sought

July 18, 2013 4:42 p.m.

CASE# 13-50079

On Thursday, July 18, 2013, at approximately 10:57 a.m., Redding Police officers responded to the 2600 block of Sharon Avenue in Redding after receiving information of a subject wanted in connection to two separate domestic violence cases was in a residence. The suspect was identified as Tyler Wieting, 29 years, of Redding. When officers arrived, they continued to develop information indicating Wieting was possibly in the residence, however, this information was not absolute. There was also the possibility Wieting had fled the residence when officers first arrived.

Officers attempted contact with Wieting via loudspeaker for approximately two hours. This was met with negative results. At the time of this incident, there was no arrest warrant for Wieting of search warrant for the residence. Additionally, the victim in the domestic violence cases was not at the residence. For these reasons, the decision was made to leave the area and refer the cases to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution against Weiting.

Anyone having information regarding the whereabouts of Weiting is asked to call the Redding Police Department at 530-225-4200.
