Deputies Honor a Fallen Hero. Sheriff’s deputies from Lakewood Station are honoring Firefighter Kevin Woyjeck at Station 23 in Bellflower

Sheriff’s deputies from Lakewood Station are honoring Firefighter Kevin Woyjeck, who was killed in the line of duty with eighteen others last month in Arizona. Kevin’s father, Captain Joe Woyjeck, is assigned to LA County Fire Station 23 in Bellflower.

The deputies are holding vigil by standing guard in full uniform, adjacent to the fire station for a 24 hour period. Captain Joe Woyjeck is a longtime friend of Lakewood Sheriff’s Station, the cities we serve, and countless people in the community. The deputies volunteered to pay tribute to the Woyjeck family and our brothers in public safety during this incredible time of loss.

The tribute will conclude at 9:00 am on Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013.
