SANTA ANA FREEWAY (I-5) SOUTH CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS

NORWALK – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has scheduled nightly lane closures next week on the Santa Ana Freeway (Interstate 5) and on Rosecrans Avenue, a local street, for soil testing and evaluation for an upcoming pile driving operation to widen Rosecrans Avenue.
The schedule is:

Nightly, Monday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 9
Local Street Lane Closures on Rosecrans Avenue: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. - ONE LANE CLOSED in each direction on Rosecrans Ave. between Firestone Blvd. and Firestone Blvd./Bloomfield Ave. Lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. for the morning commute.

Nightly, Wednesday, July 10 through Friday, July 12
Southbound I-5 Lane Closures: 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. - Up to TWO LANES CLOSED between San Antonio Blvd. and Rosecrans Ave.

Nightly, Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12
Southbound I-5 off-ramp CLOSED at Rosecrans Ave: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.- the on-ramp at Rosecrans Avenue will be fully closed. Detour signs will be posted.

Daytime, Tuesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 17
Local Street Lane Closures on Rosecrans Avenue: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.- ONE LANE CLOSED in each direction on Rosecrans Ave. between Firestone Blvd. and Firestone Blvd./Bloomfield Ave.

Noise: Noise will be experienced from back-up alarms, work crews voices and other equipment.
Lighting: Additional lighting is required for the safety of the public and the crews.
Dust: Water trucks will be on-site and used to minimize dust during working hours.
Access: Residents, businesses and emergency responders will have access at all times.
