7-3-13-Man arrested on numerous charges including endangering a child after domestic violence assault on Eddy.

On 7-03-13, at 9:53 PM, officers responded to a call at 3308 Eddy from a female that a male that had assaulted her was now outside her apartment attempting to get back in. Arriving officers found the door to her apartment broken open. The female that had been inside had fled to another apartment. Officers spoke to her and learned that the suspect, described as her ex-boyfriend, originally came to the apartment and was allowed inside. The two became involved in a dispute. The victim decided to take her 18 month old child and leave the apartment. While she was packing, her ex-boyfriend left. She locked the front door. Within a few minutes, he came back. He broke down the front door and entered the apartment. He started striking the victim in the head repeatedly with his fist and threw her to the floor. The victim was able to get out the front door, but realized that her child was inside and tried to get back in. The victim said that she could see the suspect still in the apartment pick up her child by the leg and arm and throw him. Neighbors came to the woman’s aid. She told them that her child was inside. The neighbors went into the apartment and retrieved the child and returned him to the mother. The child did not appear to be injured. Responding officers searched the victim’s home but the suspect had fled. Officers then saw him running across the apartment’s courtyard and jumping a fence in an attempt to evade them. They found him hiding on the ground near a wall in an area north of the apartments. When officers attempted to take him into custody, he would not follow their instructions to allow himself to be handcuffed. He got up and fought with the officers. The officers used a TASER to take him into custody. The suspect, Oscar Villafranco Jr. HM 22, was booked into the Randall County Jail on charges of assault with serious bodily injury (to a family member), endangering a child, harassment of a public servant, failure to identify, and evading arrest/search. The victim was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Officers reported that she suffered serious facial injuries and was still being treated at the time they left the hospital.
