Roadside Safety Check - June 28, 2013 Results
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Elgin, IL (07/01/13) - On June 28, 2013, the Illinois State Police and the Huntley Police Department conducted a joint roadside safety check in Huntley on Illinois 47 south of Illinois 62. Troopers from the State Police, District 2, and officers from Huntley Police Department issued 32 citations during the detail. Of those, 11 citations were for driving with a suspended driver’s license or not having a valid driver’s license and 11 citations were for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. The other citations were for equipment and registration offenses along with one arrest for Possession of Cannabis and one arrest for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Roadside Safety Check is part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Campaign and is funded through a grant from the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The grant is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
