OPD Makes Seven Arrests in Connection with Four Robbery Cases

Oakland, CA — A key part of our crime reduction strategy is to share information with the community. As a result, the community’s informed participation has assisted us to make robbery and burglary arrests.

On June 13, 2013, at 12:50 PM, Oakland Police officers responded to the area of 8th Avenue and International Boulevard on a report of a strong arm robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by witnesses. The victim pointed out the two female juvenile suspects and stated that they took his cell phone. The two suspects were arrested in connection with the strong arm robbery. The loss was recovered.

On June 18, 2013, at 3:30 PM, Oakland Police officers responded to the 1400 block of Fruitvale Avenue on a report of a strong arm robbery. The victim provided information that led to the arrest of the suspect in connection with the robbery.

On June 18, 2013, at 6:20 PM, Oakland Police officers responded to the 2800 block of San Pablo Avenue on a report of an armed robbery. The victim told the officers that he had arranged to make a purchase from a Craigslist advertisement, but prior to the transaction, he was robbed at gunpoint. The victim provided a description of the suspects and the vehicle they used. Officers were able to locate one of the male adult suspects and arrested him in connection with the armed robbery. Partial loss was recovered.

On June 20, 2013, at 9:30 PM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 5900 block of International Boulevard to investigate a strong arm robbery. Two victims reported that they had been assaulted and robbed as they left a store. They directed police to the suspects, who were still nearby. Officers arrested the three suspects, one male adult and two male juveniles, in connection with the strong arm robbery. Partial loss was recovered.
