Sheriff's deputies charge couple (Nichole Buckner and Greg DeHart) they say left loaded gun in floor where toddler played 
Capt. Shanon Smith of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Nichole Brooke Buckner, 23, of Crawford Street in Marion, and Greg Ray DeHart, 42, of Idlewood Drive in Marion, with one count of misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
On Monday, June 10, sheriff’s deputies responded to Buckner’s residence to serve warrants on her.
“We got no response by knocking on the door,” Smith stated. “One of our deputies was in the process of getting a search warrant, but she finally opened the door after about an hour.”
The captain said there was a 2- or 3-year-old child in the house, along with Buckner, DeHart and several other adults.
Officers located a loaded handgun in the floor of the room where the child was present.
DeHart admitted that he owned the firearm, Smith stated.
