OPD Officers Arrest Robbery and Burglary Suspects

Oakland, CA — A key part of our crime reduction strategy is to share information with the community. As a result, the community’s informed participation has assisted us to make robbery and burglary arrests.

On June 6, 2013, at 3:02 AM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of 12th Street to investigate a report of commercial burglary at a business. Soon after officers arrived, they heard a noise coming from the business. The suspect ran from the business toward the freeway, where he hid in the bushes. Officers arrested the male adult suspect in connection with burglary. The loss was recovered.

On June 8, 2013, at 8:15 PM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Filbert Street to investigate a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers were advised by multiple victims that they had been robbed at gun point and carjacked by two male adult suspects. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a perimeter search, detaining one suspect. The suspect was arrested in connected with the robbery and carjacking. Also, the carjacked vehicle was identified in a similar robbery that occurred in the 2500 block of Linden shortly after the carjacking later that evening.

On June 11, 2013, at 1:44 PM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of 84th Avenue to investigate a report of strong arm robbery. The victim told the officers that she was robbed while sitting in her vehicle at a red light. The victim and her friends from the area pursued the male adult suspect and gave officers the location and direction he was last seen. Officers were able to locate the suspect beneath a house and arrested him in connection with the strong arm robbery.
