On June 11, 2013 at approximately 11:01 a.m., Officer Marcelino Cortez contacted 24-year-old Eduardo Contreras of Los Banos in the 700 Block of I Street to conduct a Parole compliance check.
As the Officer approached Contreras, he noticed Contreras was attempting to conceal a plastic bag containing suspected Methamphetamine on the ground. Contreras was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance. The Officer continued to search Contreras’ belongings and located a credit card which was reported stolen from a local resident on April 18, 2013 while he was in the 2000 Block of East Pacheco Boulevard.

Contreras was booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, and violation of the conditions of his parole. Contreras is currently being held without bail at the John Latorraca Correctional Facility.
