Health department issues measles alert after patient goes into BJ's Wholesale Club in Watchung on June 3rd.
EDISON - The State Department of Health has issued a public alert that a person with a confirmed case of measles may have exposed customers and employees at a Watchung store.
The health department is asking anyone who was at the BJ's Wholesale Club on Route 22 back on June 3 between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to contact their doctor.
Measles is a highly contagious viral illness that can cause serious medical complications. Symptoms include rash, high fever, cough, runny nose and red, watery eyes.
Anyone who hasn't been vaccinated against or has not had the illness is at risk if they are exposed to the virus. The virus is spread through the air.
