SUNNYVALE, Calif. — On June 11 at 6:00 PM, Sunnyvale Public Safety Detectives arrested Steven Craig Bowie Jr. for the homicide that occurred during the early morning hours on June 9 at the Peacock Lounge (102 E. Fremont) in Sunnyvale. The San Jose Police Department’s Covert Response Unit assisted with the arrest of Bowie who is a 25 year-old San Jose resident. Detectives secured a No Bail homicide warrant for Bowie’s arrest based on information obtained during their investigation. Bowie was located at his residence, taken into custody without incident and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
On June 9 at 1:05 AM, Sunnyvale Public Safety units responded to the Peacock Lounge on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male victim in the front parking lot. Emergency medical treatment was provided, but the victim was declared dead at the scene. A local hospital also notified Sunnyvale Public Safety that there was a shooting victim at their facility. Officers determined that this individual was also shot while at the Peacock Lounge. This victim was treated and released. Information about the identity of the homicide victim – Sunnyvale’s first in 2013 – has to be obtained from the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.
