Newhall, Zone 6, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information. Snapshot for 05/27/2013 through 06/02/2013

This week Newhall (Zone 6) had eleven reported Part-1 crimes.

Newhall saw two commercial burglaries, one residential burglary, two incidents of grand theft, three petty thefts, two vehicles were reported stolen, and one vehicle burglary occurred.

A grand theft was reported from the 23500 block of Newhall Avenue. A tenant stole the oven and microwave from the property he was formally renting from the victim (ref -07305).

A grand theft was reported from the area of Valle Del Oro and Costa Brava in Newhall. The suspect approached the victim and grabbed an iPad from the roof of her car as she was unloading. The victim screamed at the suspect and he dropped the iPad and fled on a bicycle (ref -07334).

A 1995 Ford F-150 was stolen from the 24000 block of Arch Street (ref -07325). A 1993 Geo Prizm was stolen from the area of Wiley Canyon Road and Lyons Avenue. The Geo Prizm was found two days later on Cinema Drive and Bouquet Canyon Road (ref -07399).

A commercial burglary was reported in the 23800 block of Lyons Avenue. Unknown suspects pried open the rear door of the location. US Currency was stolen from inside the business (ref -07504).

A bicycle was stolen from the 24909 block of Newhall Avenue (ref -07418).

A residential burglary was reported in the 24800 block of Railroad Avenue. Forced entry was made into the home. Firearms were among the items that were stolen (ref -07254).

A vehicle burglary was reported from the 24300 block of Main Street. The victim’s window was smashed on the rear passenger side of her vehicle. An iPod, a purse, and miscellaneous paper were stolen from inside the vehicle (ref -07466).

There were multiple arrests made over the past week. The arrests include narcotics, burglary, domestic violence, theft and DUI.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will be conducting a DUI checkpoint on Friday, June 7th 2013 from 6:00pm until approximately 2:00 a.m. Remember to always drive sober or choose your ride home.
