Canyon Country East, Zone 8, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information. Snap Shot 05/27/2013 – 06/02/2013.
This week in Canyon Country - East we had 10 Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there was 1 assault, 2 burglaries, 6 larcenies and 1 stolen vehicle.
An assault occurred in the 29700 block of Iron Canyon Road on June 1st at 2:00 a.m following a party. The property owner ended the party and asked everyone to leave. While he was standing outside of the home, he was stabbed by an unknown suspect.
A residential burglary occurred in the 27900 block of Solamint Road on May 29th at 12:00 pm. The victim had her window open when she heard a knock at her front door, when she looked out she saw a male standing at the door. She did not answer because she did not recognize him and walked away. She heard a noise coming from inside her home and saw the same male entering her home through the open window. A burglary occurred at Fair Oaks Elementary School between May 31st at 10:00 p.m. and June 1st, at 7:00 a.m. Three classrooms were broken into. A projection monitor and currency were stolen. Entrance was made by breaking the classroom window.
A theft occurred from the 27600 block of Rock Rose Lane. The victim’s computer modem was possibly stolen by her roommate. A shoplifting occurred from the Target store. The suspects were seen on surveillance video using a key to open up the display case and steal a pair for headphones. A shoplifting occurred from the Vons’s store. The suspect was seen placing several items in a bag. An employee confronted the suspect as he was exiting the store. He gave her the bag containing the stolen items and left the location. A vehicle burglary occurred in the 27100 block of Karns Court. A purse was stolen from the front seat of the vehicle. Entrance was made by smashing the window.
A vehicle burglary occurred in the 27600 block of Dagmar Way. A laptop was stolen from the vehicle. No forced entry was seen. A theft from an unlocked vehicle occurred from the 29100 block of Flowerpark Drive. A Garmin navigation device and currency were taken from the vehicle.
A 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan was stolen from Dolan Way and Sierra Highway between May 23rd at 8:00 p.m and May 29th at 7:40 a.m. The vehicle was recovered on June 1st by LAPD Foothill Division.
Continue to lock your windows, garage doors and make sure to also lock your vehicle. Do not leave any personal property visible in your car. If you have to leave it in the car, secure it in the trunk.
