Tropical Storm Andrea has developed in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Andrea’s track will affect the East Coast in the coming days. Regardless of whether Andrea is still a named tropical system when it arrives in our area, significant amounts of tropical moisture will stream up the East Coast, bringing the potential for heavy rainfall to the region.

Widespread rainfall amounts of two to four inches are expected, starting late tonight, and ending on Saturday morning. Rainfall amounts in this range will produce flash flooding, as well as potential river flooding.

Winds may gust up to 40 mph along the Atlantic coasts of New Jersey & Delaware, 25 to 35 mph over inland sections east of I-95, and up to 25 mph west of I-95.

Minor coastal flooding is possible with the Friday evening high tide.
