Thursday night in to Friday morning:

• Possible local impacts from a low pressure system out of the Ohio Valley overnight tonight
• Occasional rain showers are expected late tonight and early tomorrow morning

Friday afternoon in to Saturday:
Potential Impact:
• Tropical Storm Andrea is forecasted to merge with an area of Low Pressure in our area
• Torrential rainfall is the primary concern. Estimated 2-4+ inches of rainfall is possible
• Our area is west of Andrea’s forecast track, possibly resulting in reduced winds but higher moisture
• The highest winds associated with Andrea are forecasted to be offshore
• Thunderstorms and Tornadoes are not anticipated in our area
• Significant wave action is not expected, with a reduced likelihood of beach erosion
• Minor coastal flooding (0-2’ storm surge) is forecasted, with a decreased likelihood in western Long Island Sound
Timing:
• Highest impact is forecasted between Friday afternoon (~3pm) and Friday night (~midnight)
• Around the Friday evening high tide is expected to see the highest rainfall
• Andrea is a fast moving storm system and conditions may change
Watches/Warning/Advisories:
• Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued
• Possibility of a Flood Watch being issued this afternoon
• Possibility of a Coastal Flood Advisory being issued if conditions change
• Issuance of a Small Craft Advisory is likely
• Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings are not anticipated for this area
