Pasadena PD’s Safe Schools Team to host Mobile Command Post “Safe Schools” Coffee & Chat at Blair Middle School!

Pasadena PD’s Safe Schools Team will host a Mobile Command Post “Safe Schools” Coffee & Chat at Blair Middle School.

On Wednesday June 5, 2013 from 7:30am – 8:15am, members of the Pasadena Police Department’s Safe Schools Team (SST) and Community Services Outreach Unit will pay a special visit to Blair Middle School, located at 1201 S. Marengo Ave., Pasadena CA. You'll find us parked curbside on Allendale Rd, east of Marengo Ave.

The mission of Pasadena Police Officers assigned to the Safe Schools Team (SST) is to maintain a safe and secure environment for children attending high schools and middle schools in the City of Pasadena. The Safe Schools Team which combines community outreach with enforcement is responsible for developing relationships with students and creating partnerships with campus administrators. While enforcing laws with an emphasis on prevention and intervention, Safe Schools Team Officers play a vital role in providing an enhanced educational atmosphere for Pasadena youth attending local schools.

The Mobile Command Post Curbside Coffee & Chat has been utilized as a platform from which officers can reach into neighborhoods throughout the City of Pasadena in an effort to listen to our citizens, share public safety tips and collaborate on solutions to improve on quality of life.

Now, Safe Schools Team Officers will utilize the Mobile Command Post “Safe Schools” Coffee & Chat concept to expand on their mission of reaching youth in a proactive and inclusive manner. This effort will provide parents, children and school staff with an opportunity to become better acquainted with the men and women of the Pasadena Police Department and the services we provide. Ask questions about school campus safety, stranger danger, emergency preparedness and about after-school and summer youth programs. Focused on enhancing the lives of children early in their development, the Safe Schools Team is committed to visiting our young school age children throughout Pasadena. By visiting children in their formative years, we hope to influence them to remain in school; focus on education and nurture good citizenship.

On June 5, 2013 Officers in partnership with the Pasadena Unified School District and Blair Middle School Adminstration will host a Mobile Command Post “Safe Schools” Coffee & Chat. Parents and their children are encouraged to visit with members of the Safe Schools Team, Community Outreach Officers and School Staff while enjoying fresh brewed coffee, juice and breakfast bars.
