State Police Investigate One Vehicle Fatality
Hamilton Co. IN - Yesterday evening, Tuesday May 21st, at 6:28 p.m., Indiana State Police troopers responded to a one vehicle crash on I-69 NB at the 204 mm that resulted in a fatality to a Florida man.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Henry Michael Marchetta, 53, of Winter Park FL. was driving his 2013 Volkswagen NB on I-69 in the third of four lanes. According to witness statements, the vehicle suddenly veered to the left and struck the concrete barrier and came to rest against the wall. Marchetta was transported to IU Saxony where he was pronounced dead.
According to the witness statements and articles located within the vehicle, troopers do not believe that Marchetta died due to the impact but may have suffered a medical condition prior to the crash. Investigators are awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the cause of death.
