Modesto, CA - On 05-17-13 the Stanislaus County Sheriff Coroner's Division removed and took into their care 17 decedents from a local funeral home. This action was a result of an investigation that was started at the beginning of 2013. The Coroner’s Division is in possession of the decedents and is currently working with a crematorium for final disposition. The age range for the decedent’s ranges from 40 to 80 years of age. We are not releasing any specific details regarding the investigation at this time. Investigators are working closely with the District Attorney’s office and no charges have been filed at this time.
