Canyon Country East, Zone 8, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information. Snap Shot 05/06/2013 – 05/12/2013.
This week in Canyon Country East (Zone 8) we had 9 Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there were 6 burglaries, 1 larceny and 2 stolen vehicles.
Residential burglaries occurred at the following locations: The 27300 block of Fahren Court on May 5th, between 6:00 am – 3:30 pm. The front door was pried open and the home was ransacked but nothing was taken. 27200 block of Cloverhurst Place on May 10th, between 6:40 pm – 9:00 pm. The front door appeared to be kicked in and jewelry was stolen from inside the home. The victim saw a newer black Mercedes parked in front of her home when she pulled into her driveway. The vehicle quickly left the location when the victim arrived home. 27300 block of Sumac Court on May 11th, at 11:40 pm. Two laptop computers were stolen from the victim’s living room. The sliding glass door was open and the screen door was unlocked. A garage burglary occurred on the 29100 block of Lotus Garden between May 5th, 8:00 pm – and May 6th, 8:00 am. A tool box and a bicycle seat were stolen. There was no forced entry. A commercial burglary occurred from Pinetree Elementary School between May 9th, 2:45 pm – May 10th, 6:00 am. An apple IMac computer was stolen from the library. There was no forced entry. A commercial burglary occurred from the Target Store. The suspect was seen on surveillance removing the packaging of an Xbox hard drive.
A theft from unlocked vehicle occurred from the 17700 block of Cape Jasmin between May 10th, 8:00 pm – May 11th, 6:00 am. A cell phone charger was taken.
A 2001 Oldsmobile was stolen from Jakes Way and Canyon Park Drive between May 5th, 3:30 PM – May 6th, 5:20 am. A 2002 Honda Odyssey was reported stolen from Sierra Highway and Scherzinger Lane on May 5th, 2:00 pm – May 6th, 9:00 am. The vehicle was recovered on May 6th, at 5:00 pm from the 17900 block of Scherzinger Lane.
8 arrests were made by proactive deputies for various narcotics violations, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
