On 05-17-13 the Stanislaus County Sheriff Coroner's Division removed and took into their care 17 decedents from a local funeral home. There has been an investigation into potential criminal and civil violations with the business for the past several months. Coroners office personnel have developed a process to assist family members with the final disposition of their loved ones in this difficult matter.
The Sheriff's Department is not releasing any information on the investigation or names of any of the decedents. Any inquires about the licensing for the business should be requested from the California Funeral Bureau Board which governs and licenses Funeral Homes.
