The Beverly Hills Police Equestrian Honor Guard Detail. Join us at the Beverly Hills Art Show this Sunday.
The Beverly Hills Police Department is proud to announce the formation of an Equestrian Honor Guard Detail. The Mounted Unit has been recently formed in anticipation of the year-long City Centennial festivities beginning January 1, 2014.
The officers have all generously provided their own horses for the creation of this unit in order to be a part of this historic event. The officers and horses receive extensive specialized training from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Mounted Enforcement Unit (MED) and become State certified for the high demands of a police equestrian unit working in an urban environment. Special emphasis has been given to training related to formation riding, movement and stimulus desensitization.
Please join us at the Beverly Hills Art Show on Sunday May 19th and welcome the police horses to the community. The police horses will be located near the Beverly Hills Police Officer Association booth at Canon/Park Way from 1-5pm.
