MAYOR BOOKER, POLICE DIRECTOR DeMAIO, & POLICE CHIEF COLEY TO RECOGNIZE NEWARK POLICE OFFICERS ON MAY 16, 11AM, CITY HALL 
Mayor Cory A. Booker, Members of the Municipal Council, Police Director Samuel A. DeMaio, Police Chief Sheilah A. Coley, and other dignitaries will present Newark Police Officers with awards for valor and excellence at the annual Police Awards Ceremony in the Municipal Council Chamber at City Hall, on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. City Hall, located at 920 Broad Street.
The annual ceremony honors Newark Police Officers who have distinguished themselves in the line of duty with acts of valor and courage, as well as those who have demonstrated professionalism and excellence in the performance of their duties.
After the awards ceremony, the dignitaries and attendees will follow the riderless horse for a brief memorial service at the Newark Police Memorial, located on Franklin Street at Federal Square. The ceremony honors all Newark Police Officers who have fallen in the line of duty.
