SHERIFF UNVEILS PERMANENT INTERACTIVE ON-LINE MEMORIAL TO 'FALLEN' HARRIS COUNTY DEPUTIES

Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia proudly and solemnly announces the establishment of a permanent interactive web site memorializing all Harris County sheriff's and constables' deputies who have died in the line duty.

The web page is at http://www.harriscountyso.org/hcso_memorial/

It was officially unveiled Thursday night at the Sheriff's Office's annual memorial ceremony.

The site includes photographs of and stories about each fallen hero and allows users to post rememberances about them. Information about related public events, and about the Sheriff's Office Honor Guard, can also be found at the site.

"The names of the cherished men and women we have lost are on display at 1200 Baker St. in downtown Houston, and we are working with Crime Stoppers of Houston to construct a more fitting 'bricks and mortar' memorial for public visitation," Sheriff Garcia said. "But the new web site gives us a new, instant way to pay tribute, and I urge everyone who values the daily sacrifices made by our crimefighters to view it."
