Traffic Advisory- Road Closures scheduled for Monday, May 13 during AMGEN Tour of California Bike Race.

More than 100 cyclists will be racing through Palm Springs on Monday, May 13, 2013, as the Amgen Tour of California travels thru Palm Springs.

The entire caravan, which includes 128 riders and 120 support vehicles, is estimated to travel through Palm Springs starting at 2:35 PM. Cyclists will arrive in the city from neighboring Cathedral City by the following route:
-West on Dinah Shore Drive, then turn left (SOUTH) onto Gene Autry Trail (SR 111).
-South on Gene Autry Trail (SR 111), then turn right (WEST) onto East Palm Canyon Drive.
-West on East Palm Canyon Drive, then turn left (SOUTH) onto South Sunrise Way.
-South on South Sunrise Way/ South La Verne Way, then turn left (SOUTH) onto Toledo Avenue.
-South on Toledo Avenue, then turn right (WEST) onto Murray Canyon Drive.
-West on Murray Canyon Drive, then turn right (NORTH) onto South Palm Canyon Drive.
-North on South Palm Canyon, through the Downtown Area, continuing North on North Palm Canyon Drive.
-North on North Palm Canyon Drive, then turn left (WEST) onto Tramway Road.
-Race ends at the Lower Tram Station at 1 Tramway Road.

Palm Canyon Drive will be closed from Sunny Dunes Road to Tachevah Drive from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM. Parking will not be allowed within the closed area downtown between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

All other roads on the route will have moving temporary closures while the race caravan passes through the city. Residents and visitors driving through the city are not expected to be inconvenienced for more than 15 minutes at any given point.
