The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team announces that on May 1, 2013, at approximately 2:45 P.M., detectives executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Walnut Street in the City of Dowagiac, County of Cass. During the search of the residence, detectives located a marijuana grow operation along with individually packaged marijuana intended for sale. Detectives also located a loaded, sawed off shotgun and numerous other items used for the sale of illegal narcotics.

One 38 year old male subject was present during the execution of the search warrant and was subsequently taken into custody. The male subject was lodged at the Cass County Jail for Possession of a Sawed Off Shotgun, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felony Firearm, Manufacturing Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana and Maintaining Drug House. He will be arraigned in 4th District Court on May 2, 2013.

Assisting the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team in the execuction of the search warrant were the Cass County Warrant Service Team, Cass County Sheriff's Office road patrol and the Dowagiac City Police Department.
