Appointment of new Deputy Sheriff 
Sheriff George Ballard announced the appointment of Daniel Greer, age 26 of Princeton, Indiana to the position of Deputy Sheriff. Greer will start his duties August 1, 2013 and will be in the field training program until he attends the 15 week Indiana Law Enforcement Academy starting in November, 2013. Daniel is a 2005 graduate of Princeton Community High School. He also attended Wabash Valley College, Vincennes University and Garden City Community College in
Garden City, KS.
Daniel Greer is currently a field officer for Gibson County Community Corrections He previously worked as a Corrections Officer for the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office for 3 years. He also was a Reserve officer for the Princeton Police Department.
Daniel Greer’s training includes Jail Officer School, Pre-
Basic training course and several others. He is currently a member of the Gibson County Jail Cell Extraction Team. As a newly hired Deputy Sheriff, Daniel went through the required written test, physical agility test, background investigation, Merit Board interview, Sheriff’s interview, psychological exam, physical exam, voice stress test and a
drug test.
Daniel Greer will be replacing Deputy Denise Beadle who is leaving the Department in June to go to California. Daniel Greer will be sworn in at a formal ceremony in July. More information on the swearing in ceremony will be released at a later date.
