SHOOTING ARREST

(Etowah County, Alabama) An Altoona woman has been arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Megan Meshelle Fulenwider, 29, Altoona, was arrested on Monday, April 22, and charged with one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling or vehicle and one count of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle, both are felonies,” states Investigator Robin Grant.

Fulenwider allegedly shot into a house and unoccupied vehicle on Saturday, April 20, in the town of Altoona. The incident occurred after the homeowner shot into the ground attempting to get several individuals off of his property.

Approximately thirty minutes later, Fulenwider returned in her vehicle and drove past the residence four times. Each time she fired several rounds which penetrated the house and the owner’s vehicle. The homeowner’s 12 year old child was inside the residence.

Investigator Grant adds, “This was not a random drive by shooting. The discharging of firearms was intentional.”

No one was injured during the incident.

Sheriff Entrekin says, “This incident was a very serious situation, one in which many people could have been hurt or killed. I applaud the investigators for their quick response and arrest in the case.”

Fulenwider was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on $10,000 bond.

“I would like to thank Investigator Grant, the Altoona Police Department, Walnut Grove Police Department and many witnesses that assisted with the investigation,” says Sheriff Entrekin.
