On May 1st, at 7:04am, APD officers were sent to the 800 block of S. Kentucky on a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a resident of the home laying in the living room with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Further investigation indicates that 2 subjects forcefully entered the residence and a male occupant of the residence was awakened by the noise and went to investigate. The intruders shot the resident and ultimately fled the scene. The male resident was taken to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of his injury. The victim’s identity is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
